What do you think is better? Also what would be a good place to buy aftermarket parts, and where have you historically bought aftermarket stuff? This doesn't apply to just one brand of car.

Aftermarket part sites are probably going to be specific to a certain brands. When I bought stuff for my W123 I got everything from Rockauto or Autohaus. For my Miata I'll probably be buying from Flyin Miata or Moss Miata.

Typically OEM is your best bet...however some OEM parts were notoriously bad, thus creating a need for a better part from Aftermarket. Your question is too vague.

Understandable; I'm just saying it depends on the part you are looking for and the car it will be for.

Depends on what you're doing.
For upgrades and improvements, aftermarket all the way. For cheap repairs, OEM. If you're not trying to improve on the OEM design, don't deviate from it.
Likewise, if you don't really know what you're doing and are just buying aftermarket parts assuming they will be better, don't buy them. But if you put in careful time and thought into making sure what you're getting fits exactly what you want, then you'll come out ahead.

I'm just kind of wondering in general as I don't have a car yet and trying to gather info for when I do.

it depends what I'm looking for.
When my E90's windshield cracked I went aftermarket because the oem glass is soft and pits easily.
When my springs/shocks need to be replaced I'll probably go aftermarket with an Eibach/bilstein combo or KW coilovers.
If my wheels cracked I'd go aftermarket and pick up something forged (strong/light) and good looking. Think OEM CSL style wheels but with the correct offset for my car.
But if I needed something mechanical, I'd stay OEM. BMW makes great performance parts. I'm planning on getting an OEM performance exhaust soon.

Well if the part is discontinued by the OEM, as my ford, your only choice is to go aftermarket.

When I had my Acura Integra, it needed new brakes...
For the price of OEM, I got Brembo disks and Hawk pads... So now, whenever I am due for a new part, I always check first if I can get something that offers better quality/performance for my money.

Just remember the more specific your question: the better the answer you will receive.

It is the era of aftermarket parts and their quality and performance are the proof that it is better than OEM. If talking about quality wise then both are the same, but aftermarket parts are much cheaper than OEM, therefore it is being preferred by lots of car owners. At present there are many online shops available who offers home delivery services. Usually people prefer online booking because it seems comfortable to them and sites like http://www.iautobodyparts.com/tailgate-catal… and others contain wide range of good quality aftermarket parts. Hence one should visit them and by comparing their price, design and quality can place your order.
